West Indies vs Nepal: Nepal and West Indies are set to square off against each other in a three-match T20I series in September in Sharjah.
Nepal and the West Indies are set to play their first-ever three-match T20I series in September in Sharjah. While the matches will take place at a neutral venue, Nepal will be the official host.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) called this series a big step toward growing the sport worldwide. The games are scheduled for September 27, 28, and 30, just before Nepal competes in the T20 World Cup Asia qualifier.
CWI’s chief executive, Chris Dehring, emphasised that this series is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of cricket’s global reach and the unity it brings. He also mentioned that the West Indies, as a full-member nation, is committed to helping cricket grow beyond its borders. Supporting Nepal in this stage of their cricket journey strengthens the sport from the grassroots to the international level.
The West Indies is expected to send a strong team for the series. Currently, their T20I squad is in Ireland for another three-match series, though the first game was washed out. Nepal, meanwhile, is playing a T20I tri-series in Scotland with the Netherlands.
West Indies, having won two T20 World Cups, are ranked fifth in the format, while Nepal sits at 18th place.
