Buttler ready to play limited-overs cricket on West Indies tour
England have also handed 22-year-old Yorkshire leg-spinner Jafer Chohan his first national team call-up.
England’s white-ball captain Jos Buttler has decided to come in the team for their coming tour to the West Indies, where they are gonna play five ODI’s and three T20Is in October-November 2024. Because of the Calf injury, Buttler wasn’t able to play the T20Is and ODIs against Australia.
Three new players have also been added to the England team squad which includes Yorkshire who is 22- year old leg spinner, and Jafer Chohan who gets the first call-up to the senior side. Not only that he is also the first man of the South Asian Cricket Academy who has been selected for the England team. John Turner and Dan Mousley, are the other new players who have entered the series against Australia.
England has chosen 14 players for the initial squad and will add two more from the Test squad in Pakistan after the third match of that series on October 28 in Rawalpindi. Harry Brook, who filled in for Buttler as captain in the Australia series, is part of the Test squad.
The tour of the Caribbean will kick off with the ODIs, with the first two matches on October 31 and November 2 in Antigua, followed by the third match on November 6 in Barbados. The five T20Is will take place between November 9 and 17.
