India takes on Pakistan in the Champions Trophy on February 23 in the UAE

India will play their Champions Trophy 2025 group-stage matches in the UAE.

Champions Trophy 2025 will be played by India in the UAE. The decision, which many anticipated, was confirmed after Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chairman, met with Sheikh Nahyan Al Mubarak in Pakistan. Sheikh Nahyan is a high-ranking UAE official and the leader of the Emirates Cricket Board.
UAE has been chosen as a neutral venue for the trophy by the PCB, “ said Amir Mir said.
The league between Pakistan and India has been decided to be played on Sunday, February 23. Rather than Pakistan, it is decided that India will be playing with Bangladesh and New Zealand. On February 20, India will have a face-off with Bangladesh and with New Zealand, it will be on March 2. And these games are likely to be held in Dubai.
On the other hand, Pakistan is going to start the championship trophy on February 19 against New Zealand in Karachi. Pakistan's final group match against Bangladesh will take place in Rawalpindi on February 27.
The second group includes Afghanistan, Australia, England, and South Africa. Matches for both groups, except for the ones involving India, will be held in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
Both the semi-finals are decided to be played on March 4 and March 5. The final will be played on March 9. If India is able to make the stage then the first semi-final will be played in UAE and if doesn’t then it will be played in Pakistan. The final is planned to take place in Lahore, but it could be moved to the UAE if India reaches that stage.
The hybrid model was agreed upon after both sides decided that Pakistan's matches in ICC events held in India until 2027 would also be played at a neutral location. This applies to all knockout games, including the semi-finals and finals, which will also take place at neutral venues.
The agreement starts with the Champions Trophy and will also apply to the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup in India and the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup, which will be shared by India and Sri Lanka. It will also include the 2028 Women's T20 World Cup, which is the first tournament of the next cycle that has been given to Pakistan.
