India is set to play three Youth ODIs, the first of which is scheduled to begin on September 21. All three matches of the series will be played at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane, as will the first of two Youth Tests.
India's Under-19 cricket team is gearing up for an exciting tour of Australia that kicks off on September 21 at the Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane. Ayush Mhatre, a promising batter from Mumbai, will lead the team. The squad includes 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose explosive batting stood out in the IPL 2025.
The tour features five matches: three one-day games (on September 21, 24, and 26 all in Brisbane), followed by two four-day matches. The first longer-format game starts on September 30 at Ian Healy Oval, and the second begins on October 7 in Mackay.
Some players who were part of India’s recent tour to England are missing this time like Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Yudhajit Guha, Pranav Raghavendra, and Mohammed Enaan. New additions include Vedant Trivedi, Khilan Patel, Udhav Mohan, and Aman Chauhan. Khilan missed the England tour due to a leg injury but has now recovered and returns to the team.
Punjab’s top-order batter Malhotra, who performed well during the England series, has been named vice-captain. Mhatre was the top scorer in the youth Tests in England, making 340 runs in just four innings. India won the one-day leg of that tour 3-2, with Suryavanshi shining again he scored 355 runs in five innings.
India’s bowling strength includes off-spinner Kanishk Chouhan, who took the most wickets in the England one-day matches, and fast bowler R S Ambrish, who picked up six wickets in the youth Tests. Other players like Harvansh Singh Pangalia (wicketkeeper-batter), Anmoljeet Singh (off-spinner), Naman Pushpak, and D Deepesh are also in the squad. The standby players include Guha, Laxman, B K Kishore, Alankrith Rapole, and Arnav Bugga.
