SRH Innings
Sunrisers Hyderabad put on a batting masterclass against Kolkata Knight Riders, finishing with a massive 278/3, the third-highest total in IPL history.
Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the tone early, smashing boundaries right from the start. In just four overs, SRH raced to 55 runs, with Head leading the charge. Abhishek tried to match his partner’s pace, hitting Nortje for two fours, but Head stole the show by closing the PowerPlay with a six and a four, taking SRH to 79/0 in six overs.
Then came the middle overs, where SRH truly exploded. Abhishek hit two back-to-back sixes before falling to Sunil Narine, who became the highest wicket-taker in men's T20 cricket with 209 wickets. But that didn’t slow SRH down Klaasen stepped in and took charge. He watched as Head smashed his way to a 26-ball fifty, then joined the party by hitting his 300th six in T20 cricket.
SRH kept piling on the runs, reaching 139/1 at the halfway mark. Klaasen and Head tore into KKR’s spinners, hammering Varun CV and Narine. Klaasen reached his 50 in just 17 balls, while Head continued his aggressive batting. Though Narine briefly slowed things down by dismissing Head, Klaasen responded with two huge sixes, pushing SRH past 200 with 32 balls still left.
In the final overs, Klaasen was unstoppable. He reached his century in just 37 balls, making it the joint-third fastest in IPL history. M Kishan chipped in with a few boundaries before falling for 29 off 20 balls, but Klaasen kept going, smashing Varun CV, Russell, and Nortje. SRH wrapped up their innings with 22 fours and 19 sixes, finishing at 278/3 a truly unforgettable batting display.
KKR Innings
Sunrisers Hyderabad sealed a dominant 110-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders, wrapping up their IPL season in style.
KKR faced a daunting chase, and Sunil Narine tried to set the tone early with three sixes and two fours off Pat Cummins. However, Jaydev Unadkat struck back, dismissing Narine with a clever off-cutter. KKR struggled with their opening partnerships all season, becoming only the third team in IPL history to never have a 50-run stand. Ajinkya Rahane kept the scoring rate at 10 runs per over, but Unadkat removed him in the sixth over, further denting KKR’s hopes.
In the middle overs, Harsh Dubey and Eshan Malinga took control, dismantling KKR’s batting lineup. Malinga removed Quinton de Kock in the seventh over, and Dubey struck twice in the eighth, dismissing Rinku Singh and Andre Russell in consecutive balls. KKR stumbled to 70/5, and though Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Manish Pandey tried to stabilise the innings, Malinga returned in the 12th over to break their stand. Dubey picked up his third wicket, cleaning up Ramandeep Singh in the 14th over, leaving KKR seven down and staring at defeat.
In the final overs, Manish Pandey fought back with three sixes off Malinga, adding 52 runs off 22 balls with Harshit Rana. But Unadkat struck again, dismissing Pandey and running out Vaibhav Arora on the next ball. Malinga finished things off in the penultimate over, securing a massive 110-run win for SRH.
A dominant performance from SRH, with their bowlers ensuring KKR never got close to the target!
