Ahmedabad Will Host the IPL 2025 Final; RCB vs SRH Shifted to Lucknow

IPL 2025: Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad set to host the summit clash as well as Qualifier 2 while the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator.

Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium is all set to host the season finale of IPL 2025 on June 3.  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken this decision during the series of Meetings on Tuesday. And Ahmedabad is also hosting the Qualifier 2 on June 1.
Whereas first two playoff matches - Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator are going to be played at Mullanpur, New Chandigarh on May 29 and May 30. The main reason for taking this decision is the weather conditions, as the rainy season is soon going to start in the country.
Just days before announcing the return of IPL Season 18, a senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the board’s worries about finishing the remaining matches. "After the conflict, it's the weather," the official noted, expressing concerns that the league might be impacted by recent strange and unexpected heavy rains hitting the country.
The BCCI held a meeting on May 20 to decide the venues for the IPL playoffs and final, with weather being the main concern. After reviewing forecasts for the next two weeks, they chose Ahmedabad and New Chandigarh, as these cities have the lowest chance of rain.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) had hoped to host the final two matches at Eden Gardens, since the Kolkata Knight Riders won last season. Initially, Kolkata and Hyderabad were set to host the playoffs, but due to changing weather conditions, the BCCI decided to move the first two games, Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator to North India, where rain is less likely.
The IPL Governing Council confirmed the venue changes in an official statement, explaining that the decision was made based on weather forecasts and other important factors.
RCB game Relocate to Lucknow
The BCCI has decided to move the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad match from Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to Ekana Stadium in Lucknow due to heavy rains in Bengaluru. The game, scheduled for May 23, will still be considered RCB’s home match despite the venue change.
