Zeeshan Ansari's Four-Wicket Haul Seals Victory for Meerut Mavericks
UP T20 League: Divyansh Rajput's 53 runs in 28 balls and Zeeshan Ansari's help Meerut Mavericks seal their third win by 41 runs against Noida Kings.
The Meerut Mavericks gave a stunning all-round performance to outclass the Noida Kings by 41 runs in a one-sided contest. Batting first, the Mavericks showed their intent right from the start. Openers Swastik Chikara and Rituraj Sharma provided a solid beginning, putting the pressure on the bowlers early on. Swastik scored a quick 20 runs, striking confidently to get the scoreboard moving, while Rituraj impressed with a stylish 34 runs that came at a fast pace. His innings included some attractive boundaries that set the tone for the innings.
After the openers laid the foundation, the middle order carried the momentum forward. Ritik Vats played a handy knock of 24 runs, keeping the run rate high with his aggressive strokes. But the real star of the batting innings was Divyansh Rajput. Walking in at a crucial stage, Divyansh played with great confidence and timing. He remained unbeaten on 53 runs from just 28 balls, smashing 3 fours and 4 massive sixes. His knock changed the tempo completely and gave the Mavericks the final push they needed to reach a commanding total of 184 runs in their 20 overs.
The Noida Kings’ bowlers had a tough day in the middle. Though Ajai Singh and Kartik Tyagi bowled well to claim two wickets each, they did not get much support from the other bowlers. Loose deliveries and missed opportunities allowed the Mavericks to pile on the runs freely, and in the end, the Kings were left with the difficult task of chasing a big total.
Chasing the target of 185 runs was never going to be easy, and the Kings found themselves in trouble almost immediately. They lost early wickets and could never build the kind of strong partnerships needed to challenge the Mavericks. Every time it seemed like they might settle, the Mavericks’ bowlers struck again to keep them under pressure.
The star with the ball was Zeeshan Ansari, who bowled a dream spell. He took 4 wickets for just 17 runs in his four overs, completely destroying the Kings’ middle order. His clever variations and accurate bowling left the batsmen clueless, and he was rightly the hero of the bowling attack. Supporting him well, Vishal Chaudhary and Kartik Tyagi both chipped in with two wickets each, ensuring the pressure never lifted from the Kings.
For the Noida Kings, only Prashant Veer and Karn Sharma showed some fight. Prashant played a determined knock of 39 runs, while Karn scored a steady 37, but neither could find the big hits that were needed to chase down such a huge score. The rest of the batting lineup failed to stay at the crease, and in the end, the Kings could only manage 143 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
The 41-run victory was not just another win for the Mavericks it was a statement. Their batting was powerful, with contributions from almost everyone, and their bowling was equally impressive, led by the brilliance of Zeeshan Ansari. The balance between bat and ball made them look like a complete unit, ready to take on any challenge.
