Zadran, Nabi, Sami, and Rashid lead Afghanistan to a 3-0 victory over Bangladesh
Afghanistan vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI: The victory was Afghanistan’s second biggest in terms of margin, with their largest being the 232-run triumph against Zimbabwe.
Afghanistan crushed Bangladesh by 200 runs in the third ODI in Abu Dhabi to complete a 3-0 series whitewash. After scoring 293 for 9, Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for just 93 runs. This ODI sweep came as sweet revenge after Bangladesh had won the T20I series 3-0 earlier.
Ibrahim Zadran and Mohammad Nabi were the stars with the bat. Zadran gave Afghanistan a strong start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz, adding 99 runs for the first wicket. Later, Nabi finished the innings with a bang, smashing three sixes and a four in the final overs to lift the total close to 300. Afghanistan scored 44 runs in the last two overs, thanks to Nabi’s fireworks.
Bangladesh’s chase never got going. Mohammad Naim struggled early, and although Saif Hassan tried to fight back with a quick 43, wickets kept falling around him. Rashid Khan spun a web once again, taking three wickets in his first three overs. His googlies were too good for the Bangladeshi batters.
Pacer Bilal Sami also had a dream outing, picking up his first five-wicket haul in ODIs. He cleaned up the tail with sharp bowling, as Bangladesh collapsed in just 28 overs. Their batting looked completely out of sorts throughout the series.
With this win, Afghanistan showed their growing strength in the ODI format. They were dominant with both bat and ball, and their energy on the field never dropped. It was a complete team performance to seal a memorable series win.
