LHNB T20 Trophy: Youth Cricket Club vs Lucknow Development Authority. Player of the Match: Umesh Yadav
Youth Cricket Club delivered a well-rounded performance to outplay Lucknow Development Authority by 30 runs. A fighting total of 124, followed by a sensational bowling effort led by Umesh Yadav (3/13) and Apurv Vikram Singh (3/17), ensured that LDA were bowled out for just 94 runs.
First Innings – Youth Cricket Club Put Up a Competitive 124
After being put in to bat, Youth Cricket Club’s top order struggled to accelerate early on. Opener Farhaan Ahmed (25 off 26) provided a slow start, while Saurabh Singh (17 off 22) also contributed but failed to kick on.
Wickets fell regularly, and the team looked in trouble at 50/3 in 10 overs. However, the momentum shifted dramatically thanks to Kuldeep Chauhan’s explosive 33 off just 17 balls, which included 1 four and 3 big sixes. His fearless hitting gave the Youth Cricket Club a much-needed lift.
Shivam Pandey added stability with a composed 31 off 29, but a flurry of wickets in the death overs, including 4 dismissals within the final 5 overs, kept the total to 124 all out in 20 overs.
Second Innings – LDA Collapses to 94 All Out
Chasing a modest target of 125, Lucknow Development Authority faltered early and never recovered. Aditya Pandey fell cheaply for 2, and though Shubh Singh (21 off 15) and Himanshu Kumar (23 off 36) attempted to rebuild, wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals.
The middle and lower order folded under pressure, with Sufiyan Khan, Manish Sharma, and Atif Khan all dismissed for ducks. Only Satvik Rao offered resistance with a gutsy 33 off 28 balls, but once he was trapped LBW by Shaurya Pratap Bind, the writing was on the wall.
A brilliant spell from Umesh Yadav, who picked up 3 wickets for just 13 runs in 3.1 overs, proved decisive. He was backed up by Mubashshir Ishlam (4-1-12-2) and Apurv Vikram Singh (3-0-17-3), whose pace and accuracy tore through the batting lineup.
