Youngster Aster Beats Bhawani Tigers by 34 Runs in a High-Scoring Match
LSKCM T20 Trophy: Bhawani Tigers vs Youngster Aster. Player of the Match: Abhinav Tej Rana
The second match of the day at the 1st Late Smt. Kiran Chopra Memorial Tournament 2025 was exciting as Youngster Aster put on a strong all-around performance, leading his team to a 34-run victory over the Bhawani Tigers. With impressive batting, quick bowling, and plenty of sixes, the match excited the crowd at the Greater Noida ground under the evening lights.
Youngster Aster started the match strong after being asked to bat first, attacking the Bhawani Tigers' bowlers right away. Abhay Pratap Singh gave the team a good start with a quick 18 runs off just 10 balls before getting caught off a return throw by Faizan Alam. Divyansh Joshi then kept the momentum going, scoring a quick 37 runs off 16 balls, hitting 4 boundaries and 2 big sixes, which set the stage for a big total.
However, the standout performance came from Abhinav Tej Rana, who played one of the best innings of the tournament so far. Rana scored 81 runs off 40 balls, showing both power and smart shot selection, with 9 fours and 4 sixes. He not only held the innings together but also applied continuous pressure on the opposing team with his batting.
Young player Aster's batting skills were impressive, especially when Lavi scored a quick 38 runs off 21 balls, hitting 1 four and 4 big sixes. Even though the team lost a few wickets in the middle overs, they kept adding runs and finished with a strong total of 226/7 in their 20 overs definitely a tough target in any T20 match.
The bowlers for the Bhawani Tigers tried everything they could, but not many had success on a pitch that favoured batting. Hitesh Sharma took two wickets but gave away 43 runs in his 4 overs. Prateek Raman bowled well, taking the important wicket of Joshi with figures of 2 overs, 13 runs, and 1 wicket. However, others like Nitin Nagar and Shivraj Nigam struggled, allowing more than 20 runs in their single overs.
Chasing a target of 227 runs was always going to be tough for the Bhawani Tigers, and they started the game poorly. Vikas Singh showed some promise with two boundaries but was out for 10 runs, bowled by Akhil. The top order quickly fell apart, leaving the score at just 11 runs for 3 wickets early in the match.
Things began to improve as Shivam Sharma played steadily, scoring 39 runs off 31 balls. Then Prateek Raman gave the team a boost with a quick fifty. He scored 50 runs in just 30 balls, hitting 7 boundaries and 2 sixes, which kept the Bhawani Tigers' hopes alive.
Shivraj Nigam also contributed with a quick 35 runs off just 15 balls, hitting 4 sixes and raising the team's run rate. The most exciting performance came from Zeeshan, who finished not out with 39 runs off only 16 balls, including 1 four and 5 big sixes, thrilling the crowd in the final overs.
Despite these efforts, the early wickets had hurt them too much, and Bhawani Tigers ended their innings at 192 runs for 9 wickets, falling short by 34 runs.
