LHNB T20 Trophy: Mega Trends vs N E Railways. Player of the Match: Upendra Yadav
Cricket fans enjoyed an exciting match as N.E. Railways put on a great show to defeat Mega Trends by 7 wickets, leaving 47 balls unused. The standout player of the game was Upendra Singh Yadav, who scored an amazing 93 runs without getting out, from just 43 balls, leading his team to victory almost by himself.
First Innings – Mega Trends Post 154/7 in 20 Overs
Winning the toss and batting first, Mega Trends didn’t get off to the best start. Nirbhay Chaurasiya was dismissed early, caught by Sahab Yuvraj Singh off Saved Malik’s bowling in the very first over, scoring just 2 runs from 4 deliveries.
Then came a solid partnership between Rudransh Varshney and Raj Navik. Rudransh contributed a steady 20 runs off 21 balls with 2 boundaries before falling LBW to Saurabh Dubey.
However, the spotlight of Mega Trends’ innings belonged to Raj Navik, who stood firm at one end and played one of the finest knocks of the tournament. He remained unbeaten on 92 runs off 62 balls, lacing his innings with 9 fours and 3 sixes, showing great composure under pressure. Unfortunately, he lacked support from the middle and lower orders.
Wickets fell regularly Ravikant Shukla (11), Aman Yadav (5), Arham Khan (3), and Manik Maurya (0) couldn’t contribute much, and Nishant Yadav was run out for 7. Despite the regular fall of wickets, Raj ensured the scoreboard kept ticking. With help from 14 extras, Mega Trends reached 154/7 at the end of their 20 overs.
Second Innings – Upendra Singh Yadav Steals the Show
Chasing a target of 155 runs, N.E. Railways came out with a clear plan attack from ball one, and they executed it to perfection, thanks to a blistering knock by Upendra Singh Yadav.
Opening the innings, Upendra took full control of the game. From elegant boundaries to towering sixes, he played with absolute freedom and confidence. His strike rate was unbelievable 216.3, as he smashed 93 runs in just 43 deliveries, including 9 fours and 8 sixes.
Although Saurabh Dubey was dismissed after scoring 11 off 5 balls, and Annu followed soon after with 12 off 11 balls, the chase never seemed out of control. Even when Sahab Yuvraj Singh was stumped for 16, Upendra continued his assault on the bowlers, barely giving them a chance to breathe.
Prashant Awasthi joined him toward the end and remained not out on 1 as N.E. Railways chased down the target in just 12.1 overs, finishing at 156/3 with a massive run rate of 12.8.
