Asia Cup 2025: India vs Pakistan: India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the high-voltage encounter match. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 47 in 37 balls while also scoring quick runs from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. Both left-handed batters scored 31 runs each. This was India’s second win in a row in the tournament.

India extended their dominance over Pakistan in T20Is to 11-3 with a comfortable seven-wicket win in the first Asia Cup clash. From the start, it was all India after Hardik Pandya dismissed Saim Ayub with the first legal ball of the match.

India’s bowling was too strong for Pakistan, who struggled to score freely. Pakistan went 63 balls without scoring a run and only crossed a run-a-ball rate in the last over. Their total of 128 was never going to trouble India’s power-packed batting line-up.

Kuldeep Yadav led with three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took two each. Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy got one apiece, making it a complete team effort with the ball.

Hardik opened the bowling ahead of Bumrah and struck early, while Bumrah removed Mohammad Haris soon after. Sahibzada Farhan became the first Pakistani to hit a six off Bumrah in an international match, but Pakistan could still manage only 42 for 2 in the powerplay – their last bright moment.

After the powerplay, India’s spinners – Varun, Kuldeep, and Axar – completely choked Pakistan’s scoring. It took them 31 balls to hit a boundary, adding just 12 runs and losing two wickets in that period. Kuldeep even bagged a golden duck with a brilliant wrong’un to Mohammad Nawaz, nearly getting a hat-trick.

Farhan, Pakistan’s best batter on the day, crawled to 40 off 43 before getting out at the start of the death overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi hit a quick-fire 33 not out off 16 balls to give Pakistan a late boost, but it wasn’t enough.

India’s reply started aggressively. Abhishek Sharma smashed Afridi for a four and a six in the first two balls he faced. Shubman Gill also hit back-to-back boundaries. Even though Ayub removed both openers, India had already raced to 41 for 2 in under four overs.

India slowed down slightly after the powerplay, scoring only 39 runs in the next seven overs and losing Tilak Varma. Still, Pakistan’s bowling lacked bite. Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube calmly finished the chase with 4.1 overs to spare, sealing an easy win for India.
