T Dilip to continue as India's fielding coach for another year

Ex-fielding coach T. Dilip will now be heading to England, retained as fielding coach. Dilip has been given a one-year extension of his national duty.

Indian Men’s team former Fielding coach T Dilip is to return and has decided to join the national setup. A coach from Hyderabad, who worked with Rahul Dravid and later spent nearly a year under Gautam Gambhir, has been given a one-year extension. He will travel with the Indian team to England next month.
A coach from Hyderabad, who worked with Rahul Dravid and later spent nearly a year under Gautam Gambhir, has been given a one-year extension. He will travel with the Indian team to England next month.
Dilip’s contract is going to work till May, and it has been presumed that BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is not going to renew it. Abhishek Nayar and some other support staff members were informed by a BCCI official that their roles would end once their contracts expired.
Some coaches were known to have a close bond with Rohit Sharma. As Gautam Gambhir is expected to take on a bigger role in India's team setup, he reportedly prefers a smaller support staff. Because of this, batting coach Abhishek Nayar and fielding coach T Dilip, along with a few other coaches, were relieved of their duties.
However, Rohit Sharma has convinced both the BCCI and Gambhir to keep T Dilip as the fielding coach. Nayar, who is also close to Rohit, decided to step down and focus on his role with Kolkata Knight Riders, but Dilip's situation was different.
Sources say Rohit, despite retiring from Test cricket, personally urged Gambhir to retain Dilip. Ryan ten Doeschate, who was expected to take over the role, will now stay on as an assistant coach.
Meanwhile, the India A team and some Test squad members have reached England. Except for Akash Deep, all players have checked into the team hotel in Kent. Akash Deep is expected to arrive in the next couple of days, before the first unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, scheduled from May 30 to June 2 in Canterbury. The main Indian Test squad will leave for England from Mumbai on June 6.
