Stunning chase helps South Africa A draw the series

2nd Unofficial Test: Stunning chase helps South Africa A draw the series

India A vs South Africa A: South Africa-A registered the highest successful chase in ‘A’ Tests as it overhauled a 417-run target in the second game against India-A at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru on Sunday.

South Africa A pulled off an amazing comeback victory against India A on the final day of their second Test match in Bengaluru. They successfully chased a massive target of 417 runs to win by five wickets, leveling the series at 1-1.

Starting the day at 25/0, South Africa A got going immediately on a pitch that was great for batting. Openers Jordan Hermann and Lesogo Senokwane were brilliant, both hitting half-centuries. Hermann was particularly aggressive, smashing four fours in one over. They went into Lunch with a strong score of 139/0.

After the break, Hermann continued his attack but fell soon after reaching the 90s. Senokwane was also dismissed shortly after.

However, Zubayr Hamza and captain Temba Bavuma then took control. They built a 100-run partnership, with both players scoring fifties. By the Tea break, South Africa A needed 198 runs in the final session.

India A couldn't find a way to stop the runs. Hamza and Bavuma kept the scoreboard ticking with quick singles and boundaries. Even when wickets fell, the scoring didn't slow down.

The final runs came from Connor Esterhuizen (who also got a fifty) and Tiaan van Vuuren. They made the remaining chase look easy, comfortably reaching the target in the 98th over to seal a stunning and memorable victory.
