T20I Tri Series: Muzarabani is injured and will miss the Pakistan tri-series. Nyamhuri has been named as his replacement
Zimbabwe's squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series in Pakistan has been announced, with seamer Blessing Muzarabani sidelined due to injury.
Zimbabwe have suffered a setback ahead of their upcoming T20I tri-series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, with fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani ruled out due to a back injury. Left-arm seamer Newman Nyamhuri, who is yet to make his T20I debut, has been named as his replacement.
There are no other changes to the squad that recently faced Afghanistan at home, a series Zimbabwe lost 0-3. Muzarabani had missed the last two matches of that series but took 2 for 41 in the opening game.
Nyamhuri, just 19 years old, has already played four Tests and four ODIs since making his international debut in December 2024. He was previously part of Zimbabwe’s T20I squad for the tri-series against South Africa and New Zealand in July, but didn’t get a game.
Zimbabwe, led by Sikandar Raza, will begin their campaign against hosts Pakistan in Rawalpindi on November 17, followed by a clash with Sri Lanka at the same venue on November 19. They will then move to Lahore to play Pakistan again on November 23 and Sri Lanka on November 25. The top two teams will meet in the final on November 29 in Lahore.
Zimbabwe Squad for T20I Tri-Series: Brian Bennett, Sikandar Raza (C), Graeme Cremer, Ryan Burl, Clive Madande, Bradley Evans, Tinotenda Maposa, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Tony Munyonga, Dion Myers, Tashinga Musekiwa, Richard Ngarava, Brendan Taylor, Newman Nyamhuri.
