ICC Ranking: Mitchell Ranked as the No.1 ODI Batter, Replaces Rohit

New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has replaced Rohit Sharma as the top-ranked batter in the latest ICC Men’s ODI rankings. At the same time, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah continues to hold the first position in the Test bowler's rankings.

Daryl Mitchell has climbed to the top of the ICC ODI batting rankings, overtaking Rohit Sharma. This is a historic moment for New Zealand cricket, as Mitchell becomes only the second Kiwi batter to reach No. 1, following Glenn Turner back in 1979. While legends like Martin Crowe, Kane Williamson, and Ross Taylor have all been in the top five, none of them ever held the top spot. Mitchell’s rise came after his seventh ODI century against the West Indies on Sunday, though he injured himself during that innings and has been ruled out of the rest of the series.

Temba Bavuma has made a big move in the Test batting rankings, breaking into the top five for the first time. The South African captain scored the only half-century in tough conditions in Kolkata, helping his team end a 15-year wait for a Test win in India. Shubman Gill, currently recovering from injury, is just outside the top 10 with 737 rating points. Joe Root leads the Test batting rankings, followed by his England teammate Harry Brook.

Marco Jansen, another standout in South Africa’s win at Eden Gardens, is just outside the top 10 in the Test bowling rankings and has entered the top five among Test all-rounders. Jasprit Bumrah remains the No. 1 Test bowler after taking six wickets in the match, with Matt Henry and Noman Ali following him.

Pakistan’s 3-0 ODI series win over Sri Lanka has boosted legspinner Abrar Ahmed, who jumped 11 places to reach No. 9 in the ODI bowling rankings. Rashid Khan continues to lead the list, followed by Jofra Archer and Keshav Maharaj.

Jacob Duffy, who was the highest wicket-taker in New Zealand’s five T20Is against West Indies in November, has climbed to No. 2 in the T20I bowling rankings. Varun Chakravarthy holds the top spot, with Rashid Khan just behind.

Three Indians - Gill (No. 4), Virat Kohli (No. 5) and Shreyas Iyer (No. 8) - with Rohit (No. 2) hop in the top 10 in the ODI batting rankings. Whereas, Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran is at No. 3.
