The former Australian keeper-batsman played 12 IPL games for the Titans in two seasons.
Former Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade is returning to the Gujarat Titans, but this time as an Assistant Coach. The 37-year-old will be part of the support staff, which also includes Ashish Nehra as the Head Coach, Parthiv Patel as the Batting Coach, and Aashish Kapoor and Narender Negi as Assistant Coaches.
Wade played 12 matches for the Titans over two seasons (2022, 2024), scoring a total of 161 runs. He retired from international cricket in October last year and quickly moved into coaching, working with Andre Borovec during a T20I series against Pakistan while the main coaching team focused on preparing for the Test series against India.
The Gujarat Titans had a great start in the league after joining in 2022, reaching the finals in their first two seasons and winning the championship in their debut year. However, last year was tough for them, as they only won five out of their 14 league matches, finishing eighth out of 10 teams.
