India’s batting star Virat Kohli is now just 32 points away from the top spot in the ICC ODI batter rankings. He reached this after scoring his 83rd international century. Kohli made 135 runs off 120 balls in the first match of India’s three-match ODI series against South Africa in Ranchi.
Virat Kohli has climbed to No. 4 in the ICC ODI batting rankings. He scored his 52nd ODI century in Ranchi, making 135 runs off 120 balls. His big partnership of 136 runs with Rohit Sharma helped India beat South Africa by 17 runs. Kohli now has 751 points, just 32 behind Rohit, who is ranked No. 1.
Saim Ayub is back at the top of the T20I allrounder rankings. He had lost the spot to Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza in October, but his strong performance in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka brought him back. Ayub took 1 wicket for 17 runs in 4 overs and then scored 36 runs off 33 balls, setting up Pakistan’s six-wicket win.
Other ranking changes:
- Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed is now No. 4 among T20I bowlers, with Varun Chakravarthy still at No. 1.
- India’s Kuldeep Yadav has moved up to No. 6 in ODI bowlers.
- South Africa’s Marco Jansen rose to No. 5 in Test bowlers and No. 2 in Test allrounders after taking 12 wickets in two Tests against India.
- His teammate Simon Harmer also jumped up, now ranked 11th among Test bowlers after taking 17 wickets in the series.
