GBT20 League: Kaushambi Dominators hammer Thunderbolts with Uvais’ stunning century

GBT20 League: Opener Uvais Ahmed's quick-fire century(102*), Kaushambi Dominators beat Crossings Thunderbolts by 9 wickets.

Kaushambi Dominators pulled off one of the most dominant performances of the tournament as they thrashed Crossings Thunderbolts by 9 wickets. The match turned into a one-man show, with opener Uvais Ahmed producing a breathtaking century off just 28 balls, leaving the Thunderbolts completely stunned.

His fireworks made what looked like a competitive target of 150 appear far too small, and the chase was wrapped up in under 10 overs. It was the kind of innings that had the crowd on its feet, redefining power-hitting on the local stage.

Thunderbolts’ innings:

Batting first, Crossings Thunderbolts looked determined to put up a fighting total. They had a few solid contributions Nitin Sharma’s aggressive 33 off 19 balls provided early momentum, while Vishal Sharma kept the scoreboard ticking with a brilliant 42 off 20, mixing clean fours with a bunch of sixes. There were useful cameos from Alok Ranjan (15) and Mayashankar Bhardwaj (17), but the innings lacked a big partnership to really trouble the Dominators.

Every time Thunderbolts tried to settle, the bowlers struck back. Manish Sehrawat (3/25) and Ramesh Prasad (3/33) were relentless, dismantling the middle order and ensuring the batting side couldn’t run away with the game. Despite a few fireworks at the end, Thunderbolts were restricted to 149/9 in their 20 overs, a total that seemed competitive at the time.

The chase – Uvais show all the way:

From the very first over, Uvais Ahmed was determined to finish the game quickly. He attacked every bowler, hitting sixes effortlessly and making it hard for the fielders to keep up. His innings of 102 not out off 28 balls included an amazing 13 sixes and 4 fours, making the chase look incredibly easy.

Although Kaif Ahmed was out early, Arun Chaprana contributed with 34 not out off 17 balls, helping Uvais maintain a fast pace. Together, they formed a quick partnership that completed the chase in just 9 overs.

Kaushambi Dominators finished with a score of 152/1, winning the match by 9 wickets. This game will always be remembered as Uvais Ahmed's day a truly special innings that outshone everything else.
