India vs Sri Lanka: India will welcome Sri Lanka for five women's T20 matches in December
T20I Series: World champions India women return to action, set to take on Sri Lanka across five T20Is in December. The matches will take place in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. India’s first international assignment after their World Cup‑winning campaign earlier in November.
India and Sri Lanka will play a five-match T20I series in India from December 21 to 30, 2025. The first two matches will be held in Visakhapatnam, while the last three will take place in Thiruvananthapuram.
After this series, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 will begin on January 9 in Navi Mumbai and later move to Vadodara. Interestingly, no Sri Lankan players are part of any of the five WPL squads.
This India–Sri Lanka series comes soon after the planned India vs Bangladesh white-ball series (three ODIs and three T20Is) was postponed earlier this month.
The five T20Is against Sri Lanka will serve as practice for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played in England from June 12.
The last time India and Sri Lanka faced each other was in the ODI World Cup opener on September 30, 2025. Their previous T20I clash was at the T20 World Cup in October 2024.
After the WPL, India will head to Australia for a full tour across formats in February–March 2026.
