Women’s ODI Cup is going to start from the 30th of September, where India will face Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India’s face-off with Pakistan has been decided to be played at a neutral venue of R Premadasa stadium in Colombo on 5 October. Meanwhile, their game against Bangladesh is on October 26 in Bengaluru.
The 2025 Women's ODI World Cup is being hosted in India, marking the first time since 2013. The tournament follows the same format as the 2022 edition, with each of the eight teams facing one another in a round-robin stage. The top four teams at the end of the group stage will advance to the semi-finals.
Australia, the defending champions, will begin their campaign on October 1 in Indore against New Zealand. They will then face Pakistan in Colombo on October 8 before playing a much-anticipated rematch against England on October 22 in Indore, a repeat of the previous edition’s final. Pakistan, due to political tensions, will play all their matches in Colombo, including fixtures against Bangladesh (Oct 2), England (Oct 15), New Zealand (Oct 18), South Africa (Oct 21), and Sri Lanka (Oct 24).
England’s key matches include a league-stage game against South Africa in Bengaluru on October 3 and clashes against Sri Lanka (Oct 11) and New Zealand (Oct 26) in Guwahati. Bangladesh will start their campaign against Pakistan and have three more matches in Visakhapatnam, along with a game against Sri Lanka in Colombo on October 20. Meanwhile, South Africa will compete against New Zealand (Oct 6) and Australia (Oct 25) in Indore.
A total of 28 league matches will be played across Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo. The tournament will conclude with three knockout matches. The first semi-final is scheduled for October 29, either in Guwahati or Colombo, depending on Pakistan’s progression. The second semi-final will be held in Bengaluru on October 30, followed by the final on November 2, hosted either in Bengaluru or Colombo.
India automatically qualified as the host nation, while Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka secured direct entry. The remaining two spots were taken by Pakistan and Bangladesh, who qualified in Lahore earlier this year. Unfortunately, the West Indies missed out, losing to Bangladesh on net run-rate at the qualifier.
