India Tour for Bangladesh Women Put on Hold
The Bangladesh women’s cricket team’s tour of India, which was planned for December, has been postponed indefinitely. A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed on November 18 that the series will not happen as scheduled.
Bangladesh were supposed to play three ODIs and three T20Is in India starting mid-December. But the BCCI recently informed BCB that they won’t be able to host the matches. The reason India’s players are being given an extended break after winning their first-ever World Cup, and to prepare for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL).
BCB’s women’s wing chairman, Abdur Razzak, said the tour isn’t cancelled, just postponed. He added that since the matches are part of the Future Tour Program, they will be rescheduled later.
The ODI matches were meant to kick off the new cycle of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship for both teams. Bangladesh were expected to travel to India around December 14 or 15.
Interestingly, the Indian men’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh, which was supposed to happen in August 2025, has also been pushed back. It will now take place in September 2026.
