India crushes Pakistan by 88 runs in a dominant World Cup showdown

Women's ODI World Cup: India Vs Pakistan - India Women outplayed Pakistan by 88 runs in a one-sided clash. Harleen Deol and Richa Ghosh powered India with the bat, while Kranti Goud and Deepti Sharma shone in the bowling attack.

In one of the most-awaited clashes of the Women’s World Cup 2025, India Women produced a complete all-round performance to defeat Pakistan by a huge margin of 88 runs. The match had everything — solid partnerships, smart batting, and disciplined bowling — all perfectly executed by the Indian team.
Batting first, India posted a competitive 247 runs, credit goes to Harleen Deol’s composed 46 and Richa Ghosh’s quick-fire 35 off just 20 balls that gave the innings a strong finish. Every batter contributed in patches, helping India reach a total that looked just above par on a slow pitch.
When it was Pakistan’s turn to chase, they never looked in control. Apart from Sidra Ameen’s brave knock of 81, no other batter could stand up to India’s spin attack. The bowling unit, led by Kranti Goud (3/20) and Deepti Sharma (3/45), dismantled Pakistan’s batting order with ease, sealing a comfortable win for India.
The victory not only extends India’s winning streak against Pakistan in ICC tournaments but also boosts their confidence early in the tournament.
India Innings
India began steadily with Pratika Rawal (31) and Smriti Mandhana (23) putting up a 48-run opening stand. Both played confidently before getting out in quick succession. Harleen Deol (46 off 65) then anchored the innings beautifully, playing elegant strokes and rotating the strike well.
Harmanpreet Kaur (19) and Jemimah Rodrigues (32 off 37) added crucial runs in the middle, while Deepti Sharma (25) and Sneh Rana (20) ensured the innings didn’t lose momentum.
The highlight, however, came from Richa Ghosh, who played a fiery cameo of 35 off 20 balls, smashing 3 fours and 2 sixes in the final overs. Her late hitting powered India to a total of 247, giving them a strong platform to defend.
For Pakistan, Diana Baig was the best bowler with 4 wickets for 69 runs, while Fatima Sana (2/38) and Sadia Iqbal (2/47) bowled with good control.
Pakistan Innings
Chasing 248, Pakistan’s innings got off to a poor start. They lost Muneeba Ali (2) and Sadaf Shamas (6) cheaply, followed by quick wickets of Aliya Riaz (2) and Fatima Sana (2). The Indian bowlers kept tight lines and didn’t allow any easy runs.
The only standout performer for Pakistan was Sidra Ameen, who fought a lone battle with a determined 81 off 106 balls, hitting 9 boundaries and a six. She played confidently against both pace and spin, but lacked support from the other end. Natalia Pervaiz (33) gave her brief company, adding 69 runs for the fourth wicket before falling to Kranti Goud.
After that partnership was broken, Pakistan’s innings completely collapsed. The spinners — Deepti Sharma (3/45) and Sneh Rana (2/38) — tightened their grip, while Kranti Goud (3/20) continued to strike at key moments.
Pakistan were finally bowled out for 159, handing India a massive 88-run win and another memorable victory in this fierce rivalry.
