India beats weather and time to win 2-0 against Bangladesh

India recorded a famous win in Kanpur to seal the series 2-0 against Bangladesh.

Just 24 hours after starting an unexpected push for victory in a game with only 35 overs in the first three days, India's batters finished the job on Monday by chasing down their target of 95 in just over an hour. The highlight on Tuesday was Ravindra Jadeja's three quick wickets, which helped bowl out Bangladesh for 146. India lost three wickets in their chase, but Rishabh Pant hit the winning runs after Yashasvi Jaiswal's quick 50 from 43 balls. This win gave India a 2-0 series sweep and extended their lead at the top of the WTC points table.
India only batted for 312 balls in this Test, which is the second-lowest number of balls they have faced to win a Test match. It's also the fourth-lowest overall. The only time they faced fewer balls was against South Africa in Cape Town earlier this year when they batted for 281 balls.
Bangladesh started their day with 26 runs out of two wickets, but Indian bowlers were in a different mood and after Jadega’s ball they had 7 wickets and 55 runs on the other hand R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah also took three wickets each. Jadeja took three wickets in quick succession to break Bangladesh's solid partnership of 55 runs between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Shadman Islam. He then dismissed Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan, reducing Bangladesh from 91 for 3 to 94 for 7. Bumrah then took care of the remaining batsmen. The pitch didn't have any tricky surprises, just good bowling from Jadeja and the pressure eventually led to Bangladesh's collapse.
At the start of the day in the 98th over when Bangladesh was behind 26 runs, R Ashwin gave up the first strike. Mominul Haque got out to the same shot he used to score well in the first innings. However, Shadman responded by hitting a series of boundaries against Ashwin, boosting Bangladesh's confidence and giving them the lead. Mohammed Siraj also gave away a few boundaries, with Shadman and Shanto hitting him for fours.
As the left-hand batter was at the crease Jadega was the last one who got the ball. But he took only two balls to strike. Shanto tried to play a reverse sweep but missed the ball and lost his leg stump. Then, the bowler got extra bounce from the pitch and had Litton caught behind for 1. In another over, Akash Deep bowled a ball to Shadman after he scored 50 runs, and Shadman's push to gully ended his innings after facing 101 balls.
Jadeja has taken over the control of Bangladesh by now. And with a safe bowl delivery, he sent
back Shakib and his only resulted in Jadeja taking figures of 2.2-1-3-3 early in his spell.
With Bangladesh at 94 for 7, Rohit Sharma brought back Bumrah, who immediately made an impact. His third ball of the new spell edged Mehidy Hasan Miraz out. Only Mushfiqur Rahim delayed the inevitable, pushing the lead towards 100 by fending off the fast bowlers and hitting two consecutive fours against Jadeja.
Bumrah trapped Taijul Islam lbw just before lunch, but Mushfiqur continued to frustrate India. He tried to farm the strike with only one wicket left, but Bumrah's slow off-cutter at 125kph bowled him out on the last ball of the session, undoing all his hard work.
India started their chase aggressively, with Bangladesh not using any pace bowlers. Rohit missed a big swing in the first over and was caught at deep backward square-leg in Mehidy's second over. Shubman Gill was trapped lbw for 6 by Mehidy, similar to Rohit's dismissal on Monday. Despite these setbacks, India cruised thanks to Jaiswal's third half-century of the series. He played powerful back-foot punches, sweeps, and came down the track to hit boundaries, including a six. His quick partnership of 58 with Virat Kohli nearly finished the game, but Jaiswal was caught off a mistimed shot with only three runs needed.
India 285/9 dec (Jaiswal 72, Rahul 68, Mehidy 4/41, Shakib 4/78) and 98 for 3 (Jaiswal 51, Kohli 29*, Mehidy 2/44)
Bangladesh 233 (Mominul 107*, Bumrah 3/50) and 146 (Shadman 50, Bumrah 3/17, Jadeja 3/34, Ashwin 3/50)
