Harnandi Gladiators Outplay Indrapuram Strikers in 8-Wicket Win
GBT20 League: Harnandi Gladiators Outplay Indrapuram Strikers in 8-Wicket Win
The Harnandi Gladiators put on a commanding show with both ball and bat to beat Indrapuram Strikers by 8 wickets, chasing down the target inside 12 overs.
Strikers Struggle to Build Partnerships
Indrapuram Strikers, batting first, never really settled into the game. Their top order failed to put up a strong partnership as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Amit Chauhan tried to hold one end with a patient 20 off 25 balls, but his slow innings didn’t add much pressure on the bowlers. Virender Singh Negi (11) and Amit Singh (4) also fell quickly, leaving the Strikers under pressure. A small fight came from the middle order – Shivraj Nigam (10 off 7) and Nitin Bisht (14 off 13) tried to lift the scoring rate, while Devi (14 off 17) showed resistance.
However, no one could go on to play a big innings. The lower order collapsed as the Gladiators’ bowlers kept things tight. Eventually, the Strikers were bowled out for 102 in 17.2 overs. With the ball, Ankit Choudhary was the standout star, taking 3/21 in 3.2 overs, breaking the backbone of the Strikers’ batting. He was well supported by Prashant Gurjar (2/12) and Sunil Kumar (1/12). Every bowler chipped in, not allowing the batters to settle.
Gladiators Make Easy Work of the Chase
Chasing 103, the Gladiators made it look effortless. Subodh Bhatis gave a flying start with a blistering 29 off just 14 balls, smashing 2 fours and 3 sixes before falling to Lakshay Bhardwaj.
His opening partner, Naman Sharma, anchored the innings beautifully with an unbeaten 34 off 35 balls, ensuring there was no pressure on the chase. Ankit Choudhary, already shining with the ball, carried his form into batting as well, hammering 38 off 17 balls at a strike rate of over 220, including 4 fours and 3 sixes. With this, the Gladiators raced to 106/2 in just 11.5 overs, sealing a comprehensive 8-wicket victory.
