Five new players in the West Indies T20I team, led by Akeal Hosein, will face Nepal
Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein will be leading the Caribbean side. The series, starting on September 27, will mark the first time Hosein leads the senior men’s side across formats.
The West Indies have announced a 15-player squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Nepal in Sharjah, starting September 27. With regular captain Shai Hope and other senior players rested, left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein will lead the team for the first time in any format.
The squad includes five uncapped players: top-order batter Ackeem Auguste, allrounder Navin Bidaisee, legspinner Zishan Motara, fast bowler Ramon Simmonds, and wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo. Karima Gore, who has played T20Is for the USA, is also part of the squad and could make his West Indies debut.
Gore has been in good form, scoring 219 runs in 11 matches for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in CPL 2025. Experienced players like Fabian Allen, Jason Holder, and Kyle Mayers are also in the squad.
West Indies A toured Nepal last year and won the series 3-2, but Nepal managed to win two games. The T20Is will be played on September 27, 29, and 30.
