Faruque Ahmed Becomes the New BCB President and Gets All the Control
Former national cricketer as well as the Chief selector Farque Ahemd has become the board president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and has replaced Nazmul Hasan.
The former national cricketer as well as the Chief selector Farque Ahemd has become the board president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and has replaced Nazmul Hasan.
Iftekhar Ahmed, the chairman of the BCB’s umpires committee, confirmed the news on Wednesday. During a board meeting at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the former president resigned, and Ahmed was elected.
Earlier, it was revealed that Nazmul was ready to resign. He is currently in his fourth term as the head of the country’s cricket governing body. He has been hiding in London with his wife since the unrest began, which was triggered by student protests against the recently dissolved Sheikh Hasina government.
Faruque, who played seven ODIs for Bangladesh, has served as the BCB chief selector twice: from 2003 to 2007 and from 2013 to 2016. He resigned before completing his second term because he did not agree with expanding the selection panel to three members.
