Champions Crowned! MMC Titans Conquer RPL Riders to Lift the MPL Trophy

Without any doubt, the closing event of the MPL tournament did not disappoint as it offered a great deal of excitement, remarkable nail-biting moments, and a worthy champion team. MMC Titans defeated RPL Riders by 6 wickets, becoming the MPL 2025 champions, as they completed the chase with 9 balls left.
RPL Riders won the toss and decided to take the batting first, however, it did not seem to work in their favor. Even though some of the batting showcased splendid efforts, they were unable to make an enormous score out there. Because of the sturdy and classy manner some of the middle order batters were playing, they managed to set a target which MMC Titans completed seamlessly.
First Innings: RPL Riders Post a Fighting Total
RPL Riders, who showed high determination and grit throughout the tournament, took stance at the beginning of the inning in the grand finale of the tournament. Their performance, however, left much to be desired. Opener Vivek Saroha was bowled out by Sarthak after only 2 runs. Shortly after, Deepak Rana removed Aaradhya Yadav, further diminishing the scoreboard with a mere 5 runs paired with 1 out.
The 25 runs scored by Garvit Chaudhary along with Nishant Thakur brought forth a needed wave of stability to battle the scoring drought. Garvit played a carefully composed but rather critical innings scoring 31 runs into 35 balls while Nishant increased the tempo scoring a quickfire 21 off 14 scoring two boundaries and a six achieving vital momentum.
The pick up in pace and scoring really came single handedly from the middle order. Ritik Rana made sure not to falter on the existing pressure and scored a convincing 33 runs of 22 balls with aggressive intent in his innings filled with boundaries and alone second off. Alongside him, Muneeb Ahmad made scoring easy and hit 33 off only 21 balls with three boundaries and a six pushing the RPL total to decency. Efficient work through runs from, Abdul Mazid with 9 runs off 4 balls and Digvijay Singh with 5 not out on 7 balls played contributions which allowed them a 146 score for 9 on 20 overs.
Although not a decimating score, it is large enough to settle on during a final. After blocking the batting competence, RPL have set their aim on delivering competitors strength hoping to defend their score.
Second Innings: MMC Titans Display Calm and Class Under Pressure
Chasing 147 for glory, MMC Titans started with caution. Opener Ritik Arora hit 15 runs off 15 balls before being caught by Muneeb Ahmad off Vishu Pal. His partner Kartikey Veer was run out for 11, a result of sharp fielding by Digvijay Singh.
At 33/2, the Titans needed someone to anchor the innings. In stepped Deepak Rana, who batted steadily for his 36 off 34 balls, guiding the innings through a tricky phase. His calm approach allowed other hitters to play their natural game. But it was Aonik Rana and Ritik Vats who truly took the game away from the Riders.
Aonik Rana made a lively 27 off 20, including 3 boundaries and a six, before falling to Vishu Pal, who bowled superbly and finished with 3 key wickets. Still, the Titans were in a good position, and then came the finishing act.
Ritik Vats, who had been sensational throughout the tournament, once again stepped up when it mattered most. His fearless stroke play saw him smash 36 runs off just 17 deliveries, with 4 fours and a six. He was well-supported by Mohit Sharma, who added the final touches with a blazing 18 off 8 balls, hitting a couple of boundaries and a six to seal the win.
MMC Titans chased down the target in 18.3 overs, scoring 148/4 and claiming a dominant 6-wicket victory to become MPL Champions 2025.
