BCCI Domestic Regulations: Leaving the Game Midway Results in Dismissal, Unless the Batter is Injured
The BCCI says if a batter retires for any reason without an injury, he will be deemed out immediately. In effect, he cannot bat in that innings even if the captain of the opposing team has no problem.
The new domestic season in India is gonna start on October 11, Friday for the first round of the Ranji Trophy, in terms of the BCCI Board of Control for Cricket has made some changes in the playing conditions.
The BCCI rule says that if a batter chooses to stop batting without getting hurt, they will be considered out immediately, even if the other team's captain doesn't mind.
The BCCI told the state teams that if a batter stops batting for any reason except getting hurt, sick, or having a really good reason, they will be considered out immediately and cannot bat again, even if the other team's captain agrees.
The BCCI rule applies to all domestic matches, including long matches and short matches. It even applies to the extra over that sometimes decides the winner of a match.
If a team spit on the ball, the ball must be replaced right away, and they will also be punished.
*The BCCI has changed the rule about stopping a run. If the batters decide to stop running after crossing the halfway line and the ball goes over the boundary before they get back, only 4 runs will be scored. This is because of an agreement made during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The rules for the CK Nayudu competition have also changed. If a team batting first is all out before the end of the innings and then gets extra runs as a penalty, they will get more points for batting. However, if they are all out after the end of the innings and get extra runs as a penalty, they will not get more points for batting.**
