Bangladesh Women's Team to Visit India in December
The Bangladesh Women’s cricket team will tour India in mid-December for a white-ball series, which includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is). This tour is part of the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP).
A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official confirmed the news on October 30. Talks are still ongoing between the two cricket boards to finalise the schedule. The matches are likely to be played in Kolkata and Cuttack.
The ODI series will kick off the new cycle of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship for both teams.
“We’ve been told to prepare for a departure around December 14 or 15, though the final schedule is still being worked out,” said a BCB official involved in the planning.
Joti, Marufa, and Nahida to Miss National Cricket League
Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joti has decided to skip the upcoming National Cricket League (NCL), starting November 8 at BKSP, to focus on her fitness.
Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter and fast bowler Marufa Akter will also miss the tournament. A BCB official said this is part of managing their workload. Nahida is recovering from an injury she picked up during the recent World Cup, while Marufa is being given rest after a busy tournament schedule.
Bangladesh had a tough time at the ICC Women’s World Cup, winning just one out of seven matches and finishing seventh out of eight teams. The players returned home on October 28 and are currently taking a short break.
