Australia showed their class once again, defeating England by 6 wickets with nearly 10 overs left. England’s batters worked hard to reach 244, but Australia’s middle order made the chase look simple. The duo of Annabel Sutherland and Ashleigh Gardner stood tall when early wickets fell and carried their team home comfortably.
England Innings
England had a steady start with Tammy Beaumont leading from the front. She played a fine innings of 78 runs off 105 balls, holding the innings together. Amy Jones gave her company at the start but was dismissed 18 by Annabel Sutherland. Captain Heather Knight and Sophia Dunkley added small partnerships, but wickets kept falling regularly.
Alice Capsey brought some spark to the innings with her quick 38 off 32 balls, hitting five boundaries. Charlie Dean also chipped in with 26 runs, helping England reach 244 for 9 after 50 overs.

From there, Annabel Sutherland and Ashleigh Gardner completely turned the match around. Sutherland played a calm and smart innings of 98 not out, while Gardner attacked from the other end, smashing 104 not out off 73 balls with 16 boundaries.
Their unbeaten 180-run stand took Australia home easily in just 40.3 overs. England’s bowlers tried their best, but once the partnership settled, they had no answers.
