In the second fixture of the day at the 1st Late Smt. Kiran Chopra Memorial Tournament, Tridha Scorchers pulled off a thrilling chase to beat Friends Cricket Club by 5 wickets, All credit goes to the century given by Aditya, who just banged in with the 102 off just 49 balls. Despite a brilliant knock by Harshit Sethi in the first innings, Friends Cricket Club couldn’t defend their total, as Aditya lit up the park with a power-packed performance.
Friends Cricket Club Innings:
Winning the toss and batting first, Friends Cricket Club posted a solid total of 171/5 in 20 overs, largely due to an incredible innings by Harshit Sethi, who remained unbeaten on 104 off 67 deliveries, smashing 15 boundaries. Despite losing wickets early, Harshit anchored the innings and single-handedly kept the scoreboard ticking.
Opener Yash Dabas (7) and Samarth Seth (0) fell cheaply, while Gulzhar Sandhu managed only 1 run. However, Harshit took charge with confidence, finding occasional support from Shubham Bhat (28 off 24) and Pratap, who chipped in with a handy 22* off 14 balls towards the end.
The Tridha Scorchers' bowling unit had moments of control, particularly Chetan, who claimed 2 wickets for 31 runs in his 4 overs, and Saurav, who kept things tight with figures of 1/25. However, they had no answer to Harshit’s calm yet dominant knock that helped Friends Cricket Club post a challenging total.

The chase began shakily for Tridha Scorchers as they lost their top three batters – Kavya Teotia (6), Jatin (1), and Himanshu Sagar (2) – inside the powerplay. Friends Cricket Club seemed to be in command early on, with Anubhav Dubey striking twice and Saqlain Haider picking up a crucial wicket.
But what followed was a game-defining partnership and a performance for the ages by Aditya, who unleashed an assault on the bowlers. His 102-run blitz came off just 49 balls, featuring 3 fours and a staggering 11 sixes. He displayed phenomenal stroke play, composure, and timing, turning the tide entirely in Tridha’s favour.
Aditya was well supported by Honey Yadav, who added 37 runs, and later by Dipansu Attri, who remained unbeaten with a quickfire 15 off 9 balls. Prashant Chahat ensured there were no late hiccups, guiding the team home with Aditya’s heroics already setting the stage.
Tridha Scorchers chased down the target in 18.5 overs, finishing at 172/5 with a superb run rate of 9.1.
Friends Cricket Club’s bowlers gave it their all, with Rohit Nain being the most economical, taking 1/23 in his 4 overs. Anubhav Dubey picked up 2 wickets, but the bowling attack couldn't contain the explosive hitting from Aditya in the latter half.
